New workshop: Finding your voice in changing times: mindful poetry and strengthening workshop!
We are privileged to be living in times of great change. Yet on the one hand it can seem that we are taking huge steps forward.; on the other hand huge steps back. For spiritual practitioners the change is even more marked, as terms and concepts like mindfulness enter the mainstream. How do remain empowered in the ‘new realm’, ensuring integrity and purity of practice? Remaining in alignment?
The workshop offers that space to pause, talk and write and integrate these changes. We will practice mindful meditations, and write poetry. We will learn techniques of psychic defence.
We will also address the confusion and debate around terms like ‘cultural appropriation’ (in relation to spirituality), the ‘great shift’ and the ‘great turning’. And what it means to be living under a paradox of loss and great joy! In other words, how can we continue to find our voice and maintain our strength in these changing times and still be of service. The outcomes / aims of the course are increased empowerment, stronger mindfulness practice, increased strength and certainty in relation to your own voice.

What is London Vision?
London Vision supports blind and partially sighted people in London. We would like to meet you and tell you more about what we do – that’s why we’re holding an Information Day in Newham on 7th October 2022.
If you are blind or partially sighted, a friend, family member or support someone with sight loss, then why not come along and meet our friendly team and find out more. We also invite those who may be at risk of developing sight loss and anyone who wishes to learn more about good eye healthcare.
Learn about what we do and what we can do for you. Hear local voices and try out some of the latest aids, technology and find out about the help & support available. For people with low vision and sight loss.
You can also meet other local charity representatives at the Information Day, learn about other organisations working in Newham and speak to the local Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO).
The event is sponsored by Enabled Living, who will also be exhibiting on the day. We are also pleased to be welcoming HumanWare, RNIB, Insight Mind, local talking newspaper, the local peer support group, VIPON, and local opticians to the event, who can answer any eye health questions.
There will be demonstrations of some of the latest assistive technology on offer and Dr Beverley Duguid from Insight Mind will provide mindfulness taster sessions.
This is a free event but please register so everyone can have access to free refreshments on the day.
Please get in touch on info@londonvision.org or 0203 761 3651 for more information and to register to attend.
